Policies and Procedures
« on: May 28, 2013, 11:13:13 AM »
Good morning!  I am working on our annual Employee Handbook review and have a couple policy questions for the group (if you would be so kind to assist):

1) Bereavement Leave (there are a couple questions within this one):
a) how do you define "immediate family members"?
b) what "layers" do you have to your leave (example: 3 days for immediate members and 1 for "others", as identified)?
c) how do you deal with the requests that someone other than their biological parents raised them (example: aunt, great-grandmother, etc.)?

2) Cell Phone Usage: a while back we implemented a policy that requires someone in a district vehicle to pull over before making or taking a call on their cell phone.  I'm curious if anyone has the same type of policy or does anyone prohibit the use of a cell phone (pulled over or not) while using a government vehicle?

Thank you in advance for your input!
